Tidy Towns Results 2013

This is a fantastic achievement for the people of Clondalkin. Our group is only 18months old but we have worked tirelessly to ensure that we hit as many targets as possible. We have learned many lessons this year and hopefully helps us going forward in moving up the national tidy towns points ladder. Our next step now is to appoint a tidy towns specialist who will put a 3 year plan together for us. Professional advice and guidance is key to us succeeding in the long term.

I would like to also call on anyone interested in helping us get to the next level to please come out and join us on our weekly clean ups of the village. If you have a skill or a trade and you would like to donate some of your time we would greatly appreciate that. New volunteers are always welcome.

A massive well done to each and every one of our volunteers and supporters! Today would not be possible without your help. We set out on a journey together to rid our village of litter. We are being recognised once again on a national stage for our fantastic efforts. We are restoring pride and putting Clondalkin on the tidy towns map!

Many thanks to everyone who has supported us financially, including Clondalkin Chamber of Commerce and Clondalkin Credit Union. I would also like to thank management of The Green Isle Hotel for allowing us the use of facilities free of charge in the hotel for various committee and public meetings. A special thank you to the Governor, staff and inmates of Wheatfield Prison for their support this year and we look forward to developing a successful partnership going forward.

Clondalkin Tidytowns will be hosting a celebration night. Date and venue will be confirmed soon.

On behalf of the committee, I would like to thank you all and we are aiming for an even better result next year.
