Pride of Place 2012 nomination

A short questions and answers session followed the presentation and then refreshments before Joe Williams from the Clondalkin History Society took the judges and the group on a tour of Clondalkin which included an amazing visit to St. Johns Church on Tower Road. We then continued up through the village and onto Áras Chrónáin where Brían Ó Gáibhín was there to give a céad míle fáilte to the judges. Brían gave a talk on the history of the Áras and how Muintir Chrónain was formed and why the Áras is so important to Clondalkin today.

The judges were very impressed with the overall presentation and in particular how Clondalkin TidyTowns is bringing together so many different groups from around the area. We haven't been given a date for results of the judging but last years awards ceremony took place in November so I would imagine the results will be made on the night or shortly before.

I would like to thank Joe Williams, Brían Ó Gáibhín, Maire Ni Dhomhnaill, Sorcha O'Brien, the TidyTowns group and everyone who has sponsored us or helped us so far. I am truly amazed at the enthusiasm amongst the people of Clondalkin and together we will achieve great things.
