Clondalkin Village - A Poster Free Area

Clondalkin Village - A Poster Free Area

Clondalkin TidyTowns introduced a poster ban for the centre of Clondalkin Village with the support of the locally elected representatives, to protect and enhance our historic village. The ban represents a voluntary request that all posters be kept out of the historic centre of the village.

Clondalkin TidyTowns has received a very positive response from all quarters in all previous elections and referenda, especially from local residents and businesses. As the General Election 2016 campaign officially begins today, we will be contacting all of the elected representatives and political groups to thank them once again for their cooperation in agreeing to a poster ban in Clondalkin Village but to also remind them of the area/boundary concerned.

The Poster-free zone can be seen in the above map, marked in orange. Our Tidy Town area is shown in a black dotted line with the outer boundary shown by red dots.

The agreed limits for poster ban where:

* Village Centre

* Convent Road/Boot Road Junction with Fonthill Road (traffic lights)

* New Road - Entrance to St. Brigid's Estate

* Monastery Road - Library

* Old Nangor Road - Main Entrance to Leisure Centre carpark

* Watery Lane - Entrance to Aras Chronain

* 9th Lock Road - Entrance to SDCC carpark (Social Welfare office entrance)

The judging of the national Supervalu TidyTowns competition takes place between June and August and is done in complete secret. Results are then sent to all entrants in September. Clondalkin TidyTowns are seeking new volunteers all the time. Everyone is welcome to join us. We meet in Tuthills carpark in the village every Saturday & Sunday at 10am. Gloves & hi-vis vests are supplied.
